A great news for the magic combination that has one more reason to be related with each other, here is the formula once again: India + Australia + Education + Culture + (Sports). The first four inputs of the formula have been always related for a long long time and its improving for good reasons!
Deakin university announced their proud association with one of the top Indian Premier League (IPL) team – the season winners for the year 2008 with some popular Australians involved in winning the title (like Shane Warne). The partnership has something special involved, it is aimed to promoting Sports Education in India, as it will also enable more inputs on research and development field too.
Deakin University’s Vice-Chancellor Professor Jane den Hollander, said Deakin was honoured to form such a strong partnership with an organisation that shares its commitment to excellence.”We are delighted to partner with one of the world’s best Twenty20 teams. Applying management and marketing theories and business principles within a leisure framework is the defining feature of our sport management degrees. Deakin continues to carry out in-depth research in the area of sports management and we firmly believe students, staff and our partner will benefit greatly from this wonderful new association around sports education in India.”
Something interesting to note here is that Education is one of the biggest contributor to Australian economy and the role of Indian students in this is no small for several years in the past. It is great to see one of the big names in Australian education trying it to contribute it back to Indian sports and Education.
